Sure, it’s not even Christmas yet, but I’m already being bombarded with New Year’s resolutions ads. My gym is playing this card hard, wanting everyone to sign a pact to get healthy beginning 1/1/13.
Add to that the rundowns and recaps of 2012 that will circulate in the coming week or so, and I may just hope the Mayans were right.
No, of course, I don’t want the world to end, but all of the reflection and goal-setting that occurs around this time strongly stirs the flight response in me. I don’t want to look back at the year and come up empty handed. And I don’t want to have to think how I can make next year better.
But there some nice things about starting fresh on January 1st. Goal setting and resolutions can be a great way to kick start some better habits. For yourself, for your kids and family as well.
To help you out, I’m teaming up with Elizabeth Pagel-Hogan from Three Birds Books to help your picky-eater expand their palette and broaden their outlook on new foods. Elizabeth sent me a copy of her latest book after I lamented about Miss P’s resistance to anything that isn’t angel hair pasta.
Elizabeth has authored an adorable little food journal titled My Food Notebook. It’s a great way for your little one to take control over their food. Each page offers an opportunity for your child to draw a picture of the food they’re eating, their opinions about it, log how many times they’ve tried it, what meals they’d like to eat the food for, and more. Think of it as a food critic in training!
Just in time for the start of the new year, I’m giving away 2 copies of “My Food Notebook” to two lucky winners! Make your new year’s resolutions for more food variety a reality!
To enter, follow the Rafflecopter instructions below. There are two ways to win a copy of “My Food Notebook”! One winner will be randomly selected. The other will be chosen from the most creative/funny/hilarious comment about the most desperate thing you’ve done to get your picky eater to try something new.
Deadline to enter is Thursday, December 20th at 11:59pm EST. Open to continental US residents only, please.
I was provided one or more copies of the products mentioned above for free evaluation purposes. I received this product at no charge to me and I am free to keep it for my own personal use without obligation to return it. All opinions are 100% completely my own.
tell them it’s good for them, and promise them a toy if they ate it
That’s a classic!
