I’m going to do something out of the ordinary here and plug something I believe in…
A while ago, I stumbled upon a very small website for mom bloggers called voiceBoks. The founder, Lexie Lane, was so inviting, welcoming and supportive that I just got sucked right in. It has since grown from this small site to a huge community of bloggers who write everything from parenting to food websites, product reviews to craft sites. While my participation in the site waxes and wanes, each time I return, I’m amazed at what Lexie has done. The network of bloggers has certainly helped my stats with its array of events and tutorial groups to join. But it’s more than just that. The bloggers in this community are an inspiring group of people. They have challenged me to be a better writer. And I have grown to care about these bloggers and what goes on in their lives.
As if the success of voiceBoks wasn’t enough, Lexie and fellow vB’er Ro Little have launched WikiMommy!! Based on how helpful voiceBoks has been, I can’t wait to see where WikiMommy heads. Their website header says it best:
WikiMommy is an online information resource written by moms for moms. WikiMommy encourages moms to discover, create, and share content on any topic surrounding motherhood, parenthood, kids, family and the home.
Surely, some of you out there might have some really helpful information to share, and I’m sure you write it eloquently and beautifully. Do you have some cooking tips to share, some craft designs to offer how-to articles about, or can provide some parenting or relationship advice? Or are YOU looking for that kind of thing? If you get a chance, stop on by, peek around, and contribute, won’t you?
What a wonderful shout out to voiceBoks!!! I love it because of all the reasons you gave, plus I’ve gotten to know you and your blog!! It’s been wonderful to have a real community of mom bloggers who are so quick to help out with questions! Great post!!
