I usually try to steer clear of soundtrack music on this Kid Tune Tuesday thing. I figure, you’ve probably been exposed to many of the usual suspects of songs if you’re kids have had any exposure to Disney, Pixar, Dreamworks and the like. But today, I’m making an exception.
There is No Home Like the One You’ve Got comes from the movie Bolt, and while it’s been a while since we’ve seen it, this song has stayed with us. Jenny Lewis has a beautiful voice, and if it sounds familiar, it’s probably because she was the lead singer in Rilo Kiley. This song reminds me of the Appalachian music phase I went through in graduate school, where I dove in to artists like Gillian Welch and Alison Krauss. But none of this beats the sound of Mr. B singing the song. When I occasionally catch him singing under his breath “there is no home like the one you got, cuz that home belongs to yooooouuuu”? Priceless. Unfortunately, while I can find video of this song, I can’t embed it here. But please go HERE and listen. It’s pretty sweet.
And now for the results:
MR B: BOLT! Can we watch this again soon?
MISS P: I don’t wike dis won…
