Spring is in the air…#Giveaway

Springtime Collection DVD giveaway

Being that we spent most of this past week in winter coats and hoping that the forecast for snow was a bust, you’d never know that Spring is just around the corner here in Ohio.

It’s usually around this time of year when I get sick of winter.  I’m fed up with bulky coats.  The same two pair of jeans I wear on rotation have been dodging my hands in the closet, ready for a break.

I think my kids are ready for a season change as well.  We’ve been teased with a couple days of warm weather, but nothing that sticks around for longer than a couple of days.   Hey, Punxsutawney Phil?  You’re forecast sucked this year.  Be glad you have that little stump to hide behind, because I’m thisclose to shutting your whole operation down for fraud.

I don’t know about you, but I’m ready for something new.  I’ve had a rough month, and this lingering winter brings out a bitterness and curmudgeon-y energy in mind that I’m wanting to shed.  I want to open up my windows and air things out.  Get some fresh perspective.  How about you?

Spring brings such a great change and sense of newness.  Fresh air.  Optimism and hope.  Easter.

Sugar, nibbled bunny ears, and urinary-tract-clearing asparagus!

In the spirit of spring cleaning and newness, I’m offering up a great giveaway!  Just in time for Easter and Spring.

Scholastic Springtime CollectionScholastic has a great DVD series called Storybook Treasures.  Stories have been wonderfully brought to life through fun and sharp illustrations and vibrant narrations.  And the great thing about it is the Read-Along captioning feature it provides for up-and-coming readers.  It empowers my daughter to feel like she can read along to the stories like her big brother.

Their latest compilation is The Springtime Collection,  a 3-DVD set which features “Max’s Chocolate Chicken” and 12 other great award-winning stories.  Max the bunny from Nick Jr. hunts for Easter eggs with his sister, Ruby.  “The Red Hen” provides not only a great recipe for cakes, but takes us through the classic story of baking and cooperation with vivid illustration.  Rebecca Emberly and Ed Emberley’s designs are inviting and humorous and had my kids laughing along.

With narration by Lily Tomlin, Randy Travis, Michael McKean and others, this fun collection includes a broad range of stories, so there’s bound to be something for everyone to enjoy.   And it’s a perfect gift from the Easter Bunny!

I’m offering one lucky winner their very own set of Scholastic’s Storybook Treasures The Springtime Collection featuring “Max’s Chocolate Chicken.”  All you have to do is simply enter the Rafflecopter form below.  Entries will be accepted until 11:59pm Tuesday March 19th.  Open to continental US residents only.

Because, let’s face it, who’s DVD collection doesn’t need a spruce up as well?
