Day 1 of Newly Revised Fitness Plan #391.
How’d I do? Well, let’s see. After returning last night from visiting family out of town (which included Popcorn Dinner at the airport followed by Oreo Dessert), I started the day off well with a healthy breakfast. And then I realized we had no food in the house for lunch and picked up a giant tuna sandwich, apple and Sun Chips for lunch. Not too bad, I guess. But the big fat Schlotszky’s meal I had for dinner? Goodness, it was tasty. Yet, not the healthiest choice. Tomorrow is another day, I suppose.
I DID have class and rehearsal today. (A struggle, considering I’d taken a week off, ate a bunch of crap over the weekend, got sick, drank too many Mommy Cocktails, and worked out a total of Zero times. Pulling pants on this morning was a rude awakening. Or maybe a re-awakening? Time to get back in the swing of things This little hiatus I’ve taken? It’s time to kiss it goodbye.) My body felt tired, stiff and aching for more oxygen. But it also felt good to work on getting back in to it. I miss the strong feeling I had just a few short weeks ago. I’m not feeling as grounded while moving. One of the other Mommy dancers and I have started a pact - sneaking in strengthening exercises in our down moments. Strength in numbers, right?
And this, my friends, is how I’m working it in these days. Little by little. A set of crunches here, a few squats there, tricep dips during commercials. Until I can craft a better schedule, this will have to do.
